Job Description

Assists Test Officer in test preparation, set‑up, execution, logistics, and reporting. Writes or contributes to test plans, summaries, reports, and other test‑related documents. Assists with coordination of daily range safety briefings, selection, set‑up, and operation of standard test equipment, and recording of test data. Participates in field testing from data acquisition to directing testing in progress. Reviews, validates, and takes corrective action based on data.

Monitors test funds, expenditures, and hours worked by support organizations. Supports scheduling and coordination with the Range Planning Division, including cost estimates and project management modules. Provides technical representation at meetings and working groups, represents the Test Officer to external customers and support organizations, and demonstrates customer service skills. Provides daily feedback to Test Officers for decision‑making. Supports Aviation Systems & Electronic Test (ASET) Division and Air Delivery Branch Test Officers.

Assists in on‑site support in Mission Control during test execution, works toward full or limited Test Officer Certification, and performs other duties as required to complete the assigned mission. This position is covered under the Collective Bargaining Agreement.

Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Ability to use two‑way radios, email, and cellular phones for communications.
  • Pre‑employment drug screening and physical and periodic retests.
  • Ability to wear PPE and work in extreme weather (up to 120 °F).
  • Physical ability to perform tasks outlined in SOPs for Air Delivery and TRAX.
  • Ability to work long and varied hours and frequent bending, squatting, crouching, kneeling, standing, climbing, and stooping.
  • Ability to lift and transport 35 lbs unassisted over uneven ground for 50 ft.
  • Dependable transportation and communication means.
  • English language proficiency (speak, write, read, understand).
  • Customer‑service attitude, willingness to cross‑train, and ability to use downtime effectively.
