This comprehensive commercial HVAC outside sales engineer role emphasizes relationship-building, technical expertise, and revenue generation. It combines consultative selling with deep product knowledge to drive business growth in the commercial HVAC sector.
- Build and maintain relationships with engineers, contractors, architects, and building owners.
- Drive revenue through strategic business development and account management.
- Manage the full sales cycle from quoting through project completion.
- Understand customer needs and recommend HVAC solutions.
- Provide technical support across commercial HVAC systems.
- Prepare estimates, proposals, and deliver product presentations.
- Partner with engineering and internal teams to execute projects smoothly.
- Support logistics, warranty coordination, and field service needs.
- Ensure clear communication and handoff to operations teams.
- Identify new opportunities and evaluate market potential.
- Stay current on HVAC technologies and industry trends.
- Represent the company at trade shows and industry events.
- Education:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related technical field. - Experience:
Minimum 5 years of successful commercial or applied HVAC sales experience. - Technical Knowledge:
In-depth expertise in commercial HVAC systems and familiarity with key manufacturers. - Sales
Skills:
Proven consultative sales approach with the ability to navigate complex, matrixed environments. - Professional Attributes:
Self-motivated, results-oriented, strong problem-solving abilities, and excellent communication skills (written and verbal).
- Established network and reputation within the HVAC industry.
- Experience with CRM tools and sales tracking systems.
- Familiarity with construction industry practices and piping business.
- Ability to travel occasionally to remote project locations – typically within the state of Arizona.
- Strategic and analytical thinking to evaluate solutions and drive results.

Compensation: $75k - $92k+ 20% commission rate and $650 Vehicle monthly reimbursement.
