What You'll Do

As a Fire Alarm Technician, you'll play a vital role in installing, troubleshooting, and commissioning fire alarm systems that keep buildings and occupants safe.

Key Responsibilities
  • Install, configure, test, and commission fire alarm systems, panels, field devices, and low-voltage wiring.
  • Troubleshoot system issues and repair or replace wiring, devices, and control equipment.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, red-line drawings, technical manuals, and project documentation.
  • Pull cable, install conduit pathways, cable tray, and innerduct infrastructure.
  • Complete field device installations, including:
    • Pull stations
    • Smoke detectors
    • Fire smoke dampers
    • Notification appliances
  • Perform device terminations and final trim with exceptional attention to detail and workmanship.
  • Use diagnostic equipment including:
    • Digital and analog multimeters
    • Butt sets
    • Toner/wand tools
    • Company-provided computers
  • Verify system performance through testing and inspection procedures.
  • Assist with related low-voltage technologies, including lighting controls and Distributed Antenna Systems (DAS).
  • Maintain accurate documentation and communicate professionally with project teams.
  • Follow all safety procedures and quality standards on active construction sites.
What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications
  • Minimum 1 year of fire alarm experience or equivalent low-voltage installation experience.
  • Experience installing, troubleshooting, and repairing fire alarm devices and circuits.
  • Ability to read blueprints, specifications, and technical documentation.
  • Experience pulling cable and trimming devices in commercial environments.
  • Strong troubleshooting and critical-thinking abilities.
  • Comfortable working at heights of 30+ feet using lifts and ladders.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and move up to 75 lbs.
  • Skilled in the use of hand tools and electrical testing equipment.
  • Professional attitude with a strong work ethic and commitment to quality.
Preferred Qualifications

Stand out immediately if you have:

  • Commercial fire alarm installation experience.
  • Data center construction experience.
  • Familiarity with:
    • Edwards
    • EST
    • Silent Knight
  • Knowledge of cable tray and structured cabling systems.
  • Experience with DAS and lighting control systems.
  • NICET Fire Alarm certification (or interest in obtaining certification).
