Software Engineer
Manufacturing Execution System (MES) Engineer
Duration: 6 month contract or contract to hire position.
Location: Goodyear, AZ
Rate: $45 - $54/hour W2, dependent on skills and qualifications.
The MES Project team has an immediate opening for an MES Software Engineer. The Manufacturing Execution System Engineer is responsible for participating in designs, development, testing and implementing MES development tools and technologies. The scope, size and complexity of these efforts will vary from enhancements to existing product lines or large scale projects to introduce a new window or door product.
As technical skills advance development assignments will become larger and more complex.
- Must have hands on development/engineering experience in a Manufacturing Execution System (MES) (non-negotiable requirement)
- Proven experience collaborating with engineers on the production floor
- Hands on experience with database technologies – prefer SQL and Oracle experience
- Proven development experience with development languages, ideally Java
- Bachelor's degree in Management of Information Systems, Computer Science or related discipline
- Interpret business requirements and technical design specifications into product configuration code
- Develop test plans and test cases to be used in the execution of unit and system testing to ensure product model quality
- Assist with the deployment of product models into the production environment
- Assist in the documentation of business and functional requirements
- Develop technical requirements and user application documentation
- Provide end user training and support
- Develop and maintain relationships with business customers and IT staff
- Collaborate with other Software Engineers and IT Business Analysts to develop functional and technical specifications by interpreting business, product and technical requirements
- Provide and meet time estimates for assigned deliverables
- Research and develop skills in new development tools
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Able to work independently as well as in a team environment
- Able to manage and prioritize tasks and projects
- Strong problem solving skills and ability to generate creative solutions
- Strong focus on customer service and goes the extra mile to ensure a positive customer experience
