- Maintain an up-to-date property control file for all inmates assign to the institution.
- Ensure completed SCDC 19-2, inmate property inventory, is completed for each assigned inmate. Coordinate the transfer of an inmate's property with other institutions and, if necessary, the inmate's family.
- Coordinate donations of inmate property to welfare agencies and / or pre-release centers. .
- Maintain a permanent property control logbook, documenting all confiscated property.
- Ensure security of the property control room and allow entry only to employees authorized by the warden.

A high school diploma and relevant experience. A bachelor's degree in a related field may substitute for the required experience.
SCDCMinimum Requirements
- A high school diploma and eighteen (18) months experience in correctional, security, military, or police work.
- A degree in criminal justice or a related degree may substitute for 1/2 of required experience.
- Must be certified by the SCDC Training Academy and successfully complete the basic supervisory course within six (6) months of entry into the position.
