** Position Summary
** As an Equipment Operator, you will play a key role in supporting safe and efficient warehouse operations by operating powered material handling equipment to move, load, unload, and organize materials throughout the facility.
** What You'll Do**
* · Operate gas- or electric-powered forklifts and other material handling equipment to safely move, stack, load, and unload materials, parts, components, and finished goods.
* Transport materials throughout the warehouse while maintaining a safe, organized, and efficient work environment.
* Load and unload transport vehicles, moving raw materials, work-in-process products, and finished goods to and from designated warehouse areas.
* Perform required forklift and equipment safety inspections before and during operation and report any safety or equipment concerns promptly.
* Follow established safety procedures, operating guidelines, and company policies when handling materials and operating equipment.
* Maintain accurate inventory records and assist with inventory control activities.
* Identify and report inventory discrepancies, damaged materials, or other issues to appropriate team members or management.
* Assist with warehouse, shipping, receiving, and material handling activities as business needs require.
* Provide guidance, assistance, and on-the-job training to less experienced team members when appropriate.
* Serve as a resource to team members by sharing knowledge of equipment operation, warehouse procedures, and safety practices.
* Work independently on routine assignments and use sound judgment to resolve issues or recommend appropriate solutions.
* Maintain productivity, accuracy, and safety standards while supporting overall warehouse operations.
** What You Bring to the Role
*** High School Diploma or equivalent and 5 years of relevant functional experience, preferably in a senior-level capacity; OR
* Two-year college degree or equivalent experience and a minimum of 3 years of relevant functional experience.
* Proven experience operating forklifts and/or other powered material handling equipment in a warehouse, distribution, logistics, manufacturing, or similar environment.
* Forklift certification or the ability to obtain required certification, as applicable.
* Strong understanding of warehouse operations, material handling, shipping and receiving, and inventory control.
* Ability to work independently within established procedures and use sound judgment when addressing operational issues.
* Strong attention to detail and commitment to inventory accuracy and safe material handling practices.
* Ability to explain procedures, practices, and policies clearly to team members and collaborate effectively with individuals outside of the immediate work area.
* Demonstrated ability to support and mentor less experienced employees.
