The University of Southern Maine’s Department of Occupational Therapy is seeking an Administrative Specialist.
This position supports the daily operations of the office including, but not limited to:
- Providing a full range of communications, both verbally and in writing, regarding non‑routine questions, issues and procedures.
- Handling the most complex and sensitive customer/student requests requiring a comprehensive understanding of relevant policies, procedures and rules.
- Preparing individualized responses for non‑routine and/or escalated issues.
The Occupational Therapy program takes an integrative and holistic approach in educating students to become Occupational Therapists. Graduates of this program will be prepared to succeed in health and community care contexts as ethical, socially responsible, life‑long learners. We seek an energetic and organized individual to support this program and its dedicated students. In addition to supporting the Occupational Therapy program the Administrative Specialist will provide secondary support to other College of Nursing and Health Professions units as needed.
This is a full‑time in‑person position located on our Gorham Campus with an anticipated start date of August 3, 2026
. This position will pay $20.39/hour (non‑negotiable) for a new hire or the appropriate transfer rate for a current employee with the University of Maine System, as determined by Associated Clerical Office Laboratory Technical Staff of the Universities of Maine (ACSUM/COLT).

Required Qualifications- 60 credits or more of higher education or equivalent work experience and training.
- Three years’ administrative experience.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Demonstrated computer proficiency
