Description
** This position is in person in Gorham, ME**
Pay: $19 - $22 D.O.E
Job Summary:
- Processes and records the Agency’s payroll timely and accurately.
Duties include: - Responds to inquiries from Agency personnel regarding payroll matters.
- Provides procedural instruction regarding payroll and timekeeping.
- Enters and processes employee time, payroll adjustments, garnishments and pay cards.
- Processes payroll transactions accurately and timely.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Ability to maintain confidentiality relative to payroll
- Successfully pass a criminal background check the meets agency standards.
- High school diploma or GED
- Demonstrated intermediate proficiency with MS Excel and MS Word.
- Demonstrated knowledge of office practices and procedures.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with UKG or similar Payroll Systems
Essential Functions:
Communication
- Responds to inquiries from Agency personnel regarding payroll matters.
- Provides procedural instruction regarding payroll and timekeeping.
- Effectively communicates with all internal customers regardless of their areas of responsibility in a courteous and professional manner.
- Maintains strict confidentiality of information generated or gathered.
- Conducts Payroll training for managers.
Knowledge
- Performs duties in accordance with applicable Federal and State regulations and Goodwill’s philosophy, policies and procedures.
- Understands proper taxation of employer paid benefits.
- Working knowledge of computerized timekeeping and payroll systems.
- Resolves Payroll problems and exceptions in timely fashion.
Administration
- Enters and processes employee time, payroll adjustments, garnishments and pay cards.
- Processes payroll transactions accurately and timely.
- Maintains Agency payroll information in HRIS database.
- Prepares reporting for employees, managers, vendors and tax agencies when necessary.
- Develops ad hoc reporting as needed.
- Understanding of Goodwill NNE policies.
