Position: Summer Sports Camp Staff - Athletics (Multiple Positions)
Job Description

The Athletics Department at the University of Southern Maine is seeking staff for their summer sports camp program. We are seeking energetic camp staff to provide a safe and memorable experience for our campers. The staff will be responsible for coaching/teaching the campers in the chosen sport. The ideal candidate will be an excellent multitasker with a genuine passion for working with, and empowering, young campers.

Applicants should be patient, fun-loving and confident in their ability to motivate and assist campers.

Summer Camp Staff responsibilities and duties:
  • Working under the camp director you will perform various duties throughout the week of camp involving teaching the fundamentals of the sport to campers.
  • Four-day camp located on the Gorham Campus
  • Camp hours are Monday-Thursday 9am-4pm, with some additional hours for pre-camp meetings and post-camp wrap up.

  • Boys SWISH Basketball:
    June 22 - 25
  • Coed Soccer Camp:
    June 29 - July 2
  • Track:
    June 29 - July 1
  • Girls SWISH Basketball:
    July 13 - 16
  • Baseball:
    July 20 - 23
  • Coed Volleyball:
    July 20 - 23
  • Coed Soccer:
    July 27 - 30
  • Volleyball:
    July 27 - 30
  • Softball:
    August 3 - 6
These positions are located on the Gorham Campus and will pay $17.00/hour.

Required Qualifications:
  • Must know the rules and fundamental techniques of playing and teaching the sport.
  • Current and former high school/college athletes and current and former coaches preferred.
