The University of Southern Maine is seeking applicants for the full-time position of Library Specialist CL3 primarily on the Gorham Campus.
Academic Year schedule, Gorham Campus
:
Sunday 11:30am-8:00pm, Monday 9:00am-5:30pm, Tuesday - Thursdays 7:30am-4:00pm. Summer hours and intersession hours are subject to change.
The Library Specialist is a key member of the Gorham Library team. The position provides a variety of services and support including information services, circulation assistance, reference, e-reserves, assistance with navigating academic support services, and answering basic technology/computer questions. Excellent service skills are required. The Library Specialist shares responsibility for training and supervising library student assistants and assisting with Interlibrary Loan and digital library services and resources.
The position has extensive in-person, telephone, and online interactions with students, faculty, staff, researchers, and the public. The position is responsible for building opening/closing procedures.
This position may work on the Portland Campus during the summer months on a variety of projects.
This Library Specialist position will pay a starting rate of $21.09/hour (non-negotiable) or the appropriate transfer rate for a current employee with the University of Maine System.

- High School diploma or equivalent (G.E.D) and one year of specialized training or education in library related services.
- OR, High School diploma or equivalent (G.E.D) and five years of library support experience.
