Position: Mail Services Assistant CL2

CL2 role.

At the University of Southern Maine (USM), this position plays an important part in keeping our campus running smoothly. You will join a small, collaborative team that supports students, faculty, and staff every day by ensuring timely and accurate mail and package delivery.

Essential Responsibilities
  • Receive, sort, and distribute incoming mail and packages across campus
  • Process outgoing shipments
  • Operate mail processing equipment safely and efficiently
  • Provide friendly, responsive customer service to campus partners
  • Support daily mail operations and troubleshoot delivery issues as needed
Pay & Benefits

Work Schedule

The primary work schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. with possible evenings and weekends based on the needs of the University.

Required Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.)
  • Two years mail, equipment, or administrative experience.
  • Valid State of Maine driver’s license that meets requirements to operate University vehicles and equipment.
  • Customer service skills and experience.
  • Ability to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
