Job Overview
The University of Southern Maine’s Osher School of Music is seeking a temporary/part‑time House Manager for the Fall 2026 semester.
In this role, the House Manager will manage front‑of‑house operations for Osher School of Music performances and events, as well as external rentals for the Crewe Center for the Arts as needed and assigned. The House Manager serves as the primary point of contact for patrons on event nights, overseeing a team of work‑study students and volunteer ushers to ensure a smooth and welcoming concert experience.
Responsibilities- Train and coordinate front‑of‑house student work‑study staff.
- Manage patron flow and seating.
- Liaise with the USM Parking Department to coordinate patron parking logistics.
- Handle post‑concert revenue deposits.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for patrons on event nights and oversee a team of work‑study students and volunteer ushers.
- High school diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Temporary, part‑time, in‑person position on the Portland campus. Pay $22–$25 per hour, depending on experience.
