Reports to:

Chief Executive Officer Lead the financial function of a family-owned manufacturer at an important point in its growth and leadership transition.

Wieland Designs is seeking a hands-on Controller who can deliver reliable financial operations, develop a capable accounting team, and turn operating data into practical business insight. This is the senior day-to-day accounting and finance role in the company, with direct access to the CEO and a seat on the management team. The incoming Controller will work closely with our current CFO during a planned transition.

WHAT YOU WILL OWN
* Lead, coach, and develop an accounting team of approximately three people, with clear priorities, accountability, cross-training, and backup coverage.
* Own the accuracy and timeliness of the general ledger, monthly close, account reconciliations, financial statements, and recurring management reporting.
* Present financial results to the management team and translate trends, variances, risks, and opportunities into clear business implications.
* Partner with operating leaders to improve performance across revenue, margin, labor, inventory, working capital, spending, and other key drivers.
* Maintain effective accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls appropriate for the company’s size and operating complexity.
* Oversee cash receipts, customer credit, payroll controls, designated banking authorizations, sales and use tax filings, and related financial administration.
* Coordinate year-end accounting, audit, tax, banking, insurance, and outside-accountant activities, assuming broader responsibilities through the transition.
* Improve the usefulness and efficiency of financial systems and processes, including opportunities to simplify, standardize, automate, and strengthen reporting.

WHAT YOU BRING
* Progressively responsible accounting experience, including ownership of close, financial reporting, reconciliations, controls, and financial analysis; five or more years is preferred.
* Manufacturing accounting experience and the ability to connect financial results to operational causes and improvement opportunities.
