WhatYou’ll Do
The Medical Assistant supports the Practice Manager, Clinical Supervisor, and Office Supervisor by performing clerical and clinical duties according to established policies. Responsibilities include assisting providers with patient care, managing phone calls, admitting/discharging patients, and completing data entry.

- Greet and assist patients and visitors; manage incoming calls and triage patient inquiries.
- Collect and document patient information, medical history, and payment details; maintain accurate EMR records and charts.
- Prepare patients for examination and assist providers with minor procedures and emergency care.
- Perform clinical duties including venipuncture, specimen collection, EKGs, routine lab tests, medication administration, injections, and dosage adjustments as directed.
- Educate patients on physician instructions, medications, and follow‑up care; manage refills and monitor compliance.
- Schedule office/hospital procedures, coordinate admissions, and transmit required documentation.
- Maintain exam room supplies; clean and sterilize instruments and equipment using appropriate precautions.
- Manage physician calendars and coordinate scheduling systems.
- Ensure compliance with licensure, certifications (including BCLS/CPR), regulatory standards, mandatory education, and employee health requirements.
- Demonstrate strong communication, analytical, and interpersonal skills while promoting teamwork and high‑quality patient care.
- Support departmental operations through meeting participation, professional development, and additional duties as assigned.
- High school diploma preferred
- Must be at least 17 years of age
- Medical Assistant Program completion or equivalent experience preferred.
- Spanish language skills and prior medical office experience are desired.
As a Medical Assistant, you will provide comprehensive clinical and administrative support by greeting patients and visitors, managing phone communications, maintaining accurate records, and organizing files and documentation. You will assist with patient care by preparing individuals for exams, recording medical histories, supporting minor procedures, collecting lab specimens, performing routine tests such as labs and EKGs, administering medications and injections as ordered, and providing patient education.
You will coordinate scheduling for office and hospital procedures, arrange admissions, prepare orders, manage triage calls, process prescription refills, adjust medication dosages per physician direction, update the EMR, maintain exam room supplies and sterilization, oversee physician calendars, and contribute to overall departmental effectiveness through collaboration and ongoing professional development.
