Facility Manager
Responsible for creating and maintaining a safe, secure and productive work environment across all Everence locations. Provides oversight of buildings and grounds operations, Office Services, and workplace safety and security compliance while managing all critical building systems, including: mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire/life safety, and waste management. In collaboration with executive leadership, drives short- and long-term strategic facilities planning. Responsible for service contracts supporting property management across all locations.
With the support of Office Services, oversees procurement of equipment, supplies, and furniture.
Responsibilities and Duties
Direct, supervise, and evaluate department staff; ensure appropriate staff training.Establish and manage vendor relationships, research for quality and pricing, review and manage contracts, ensure work is completed satisfactorily, follow up on deficiencies, and track and monitor liability coverage, etc.Develop overall facilities plan across all locations; anticipate future needs, prepare and monitor the annual budget, calculate and compare prices for maximum cost savings, and project and plan for contingencies.Provide oversight of mechanical, electrical, carpentry, plumbing, heating, and cooling systems.Develop, implement, and supervise preventive maintenance programs for buildings.Monitor and manage energy consumption and support sustainability and environmental initiatives.Oversee building and grounds maintenance.Oversee facilities remodeling and building projects as needed.Develop, review, and implement policies and safety procedures.Ensure the facility meets health and safety requirements that comply with building regulations (monitor air quality, avoid hazards, etc.).Work with worker's compensation liaison to find ways to mitigate future injuries when possible.Space management:
Forecast, design, plan, and organize office space using the best allocation and utilization of space and resources. Consult with department managers regarding space needs and equipment, and prepare offices for any new employee or employee moves.Maintain working knowledge of leased property terms; ensure compliance, proper cost shares and allocations, payment of leases, and positive relations with landlords.Collaborate with the CFO's office on monitoring and renewal of property leases.Coordinate with and support Everence IT and IS on facilities-related technology needs including building access systems, visitor management, cabling and infrastructure, server room environments, etc.Manage Everence-owned vehicles:
Responsible for purchase, maintenance, licensing, and insurance coverage.Serve as liaison to city officials regarding Everence properties.Manage "Building Use" agreement when a facility is used for outside meetings/gatherings.Respond appropriately to emergencies or urgent issues as they arise, update and maintain material for BCP, in consultation with the CHRO and CFO, determine office closings, etc., and alert employees to local emergencies (weather, traffic issues, etc.).Communicate with employees regarding facility issues.Supervise leadership of Officer Services functions covering printing, mailing, records retention, furniture, and support tickets.Carry out other duties as assigned by the Chief Human Resources Officer.Qualifications
Experience:
Minimum of 5-7 years of facility management or comparable experience preferredPrevious supervisory experience requiredSkills and Abilities:
Demonstrate a strong service attitude even under stress, along with proven relationship-building and negotiating skillsMust have strong administrative and organizational skillsBe proactive with solid judgment and decision-making skillsAbility to multitask and prioritize workload; strong time-management skillsAbility to lead and motivate a teamStrong understanding of financial concepts and budgeting, with the ability to research and analyze dataBasic understanding of mechanical systems, carpentry, plumbing, heating, and coolingComputer literacy: proficient with spreadsheets, databases, and similar toolsStrong communication skills, both written and verbalStrong negotiation skillsAlignment in supporting the Everence mission of empowering financial well-being for faith-inspired living
