Position Summary
Inspects rubber products made in manufacturing. Responsible for inspection of products by checking parts on the line as well as inspecting products in the inspection department. May also be required to run tumble and wash equipment.
Responsibilities- Inspect samples and parts coming off grinding and cutting lines; if out of spec, work with the machine operator and leader to stop and fix parts.
- Determine if inspected parts are passed or rejected, tag, segregate, and notify leaders of any issues.
- Perform visual inspections of parts for quality defects.
- Perform final audits on completed parts prior to shipping.
- Use O.D. and I.D. gauges, micrometers, digamtics, snap gauges, and durometers.
- Record acceptance and rejection records and status of parts for production needs.
- Work with quality department as a resource.
- Maintain a clean and effective work area.
- Use other equipment within the inspection department.
- Demonstrate good attendance history.
- Read and understand standard work instructions.
- Record status of parts whether rejected or accepted.
- Communicate effectively with inspectors, line operators, and leaders.
- Work well with other team members.
- Perform basic math as needed.
- High school diploma or GED.
- One to three years of related inspection experience.
- Good attendance history.
