Extrusion Operator 1st shift

Position Summary

Rubber extrusion operator is responsible for setting up, operating, and monitoring extrusion machinery used to manufacture rubber products according to customer specifications and quality standards. This position ensures proper material flow, machine performance, product dimensions, and overall production efficiency while maintaining a safe and organized work environment. The operator performs routine equipment adjustments, inspections, and quality checks to ensure finished products meet production requirements and company standards.

• Mills compound, extrudes tubes, performs quality checks, delivers/returns stock carts.
• Warms up compound on the mills.
• Slits rubber for cold feed.
• Uses hand trucks to move skids to/from the mill staging area.
• Follows operating instructions from the instruction sheet.
• Sets up extruder, head, screen, pin/die, temperature settings.
• Feeds rubber strips into extruders.
• Uses OD sheet specifications to check dimensions of extruded tubes and adjusts tooling accordingly to meet specifications.
• Marks each tube with proper identifications.
• Cuts tubes on OD sheet specifications.
• Places tubes on cores.
• Performs quality checks.
• Places tubes on stock trucks.
• Marks each shelf with proper t.
• Delivers stock trucks to department.
• Completes production reports.
• Delivers compound to/from extruders to proper storage.
• Stripes OD surface with proper color stripe.
• Works safely with all aspects of the position.

Must be able to successfully pass a background and drug screening as a condition of employment. Be able to demonstrate good attendance history. Computer skills. High school diploma or equivalent working experience.

• This position starts at $21.45 and is eligible to reach top pay by step progression increases.
