Position Summary
Inspects rubber products made in manufacturing. Responsible for inspection of products by checking parts on the line as well as inspecting products in the inspection department. May also be required to run tumble and wash equipment.
Responsibilities- Inspect samples and parts coming off the grinding and cutting lines; if out of spec, work with the machine operator and leader to have the parts stopped and fixed.
- Pass or reject inspected parts, tag, segregate, and notify leaders of issues.
- Visually inspect parts for quality defects.
- Perform final audits on completed parts prior to shipping.
- Use O.D. and I.D. gauges.
- Be familiar with micrometers, digamatics, snap gauges, and durometers.
- Record acceptance and rejection records on parts.
- Work with the quality department as a resource.
- Maintain a clean and effective work area.
- Use other equipment within the inspection department.
- Record status of rejected or accepted parts for production needs.
- High school diploma/GED; one to three years of related inspection experience is desired.
- Demonstrates good attendance history.
- Can read and understand standard work instructions.
- Can record status of parts whether rejected or accepted.
- Good communication skills with other inspectors, line operators, and leaders.
- Works well with other team members.
- Must be able to do basic math.
This position is considered weekly hourly paid, scheduled from 6am-2pm with other time when necessary.
