Powder Coating Operator
This position is responsible for completing the main powder coating process. Essential functions include movement of sandblasted chassis into the paint booth, removal of all debris from chassis using an air hose, coating of chassis following approved procedures and company's quality standards, upkeep of coating equipment to ensure daily functionality, and ability to rotate to other production positions as needed. Competencies must include the ability to work as a part of a team, clear communication skills, reading and processing written communication, meeting production goals and time deadlines, working with minimum supervision, competency in coating procedures, operating appropriate equipment, physically lifting and maneuvering weights in excess of fifty pounds, problem-solving skills, tact and diplomacy, working under physically and mentally stressful situations, and prioritizing and adapting to changes throughout the day.
This role does not have any supervisory responsibility upon hiring. Physical demands include standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day, lifting and/or moving items over 50 pounds, close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. The employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, vibration, extreme weather conditions, and loud noise levels.
This is a full-time hourly position for 1st and 2nd shifts located in the Goshen Plant with no travel expected. Required education and experience include a high school diploma or equivalent preferred, lift truck operator experience preferred (training available), and manufacturing/industry experience. Work authorization/security clearance must be legally authorized to work in the United States and must also be able to pass a respirator test.
