Third Shift Youth Care Worker
As a third shift Youth Care Worker, you will play a crucial role in providing overnight care and support to adolescents and young adults in a residential setting. Your responsibilities will include ensuring the safety, well-being, and emotional development of the youth under your care. This is a great shift perfect for students or night owls.
Qualifications- High school diploma/GED or equivalent
- Must be 21 years of age or older
- Must be able to pass a physical and drug screen and backgrounds
This shift begins promptly at 10 PM and ends at 6 AM. Starting full-time base pay $16.11. The third shift schedule has a monthly rotating schedule of 5 days on and 2 days off, with required on-call shifts. There is an additional $3 premium for scheduled weekends as well.
Key Responsibilities1. Youth Supervision
- Monitor and supervise youth during the night hours to ensure their safety and security.
- Conduct regular bed checks and room inspections to maintain a safe and comfortable living environment
2. Crisis Intervention
- Be prepared to respond to emergencies or behavioral crises that may arise during the night
- Follow established protocols for de-escalation and crisis management
3. Documentation
- Maintain accurate records of nightly activities, incidents, and observations
- Document any significant changes in the behavior or condition of the youth
4. Supportive Care
- Provide emotional support and guidance to youth who may be experiencing difficulties or emotional distress
- Assist with bedtime routines and ensure a calm and nurturing atmosphere
- Complete the targeted chore list to help maintain a clean and functional space
5. Communication
- Communicate effectively with other staff members to ensure a seamless transition of care between shifts
- Report any issues or concerns to the appropriate supervisor
6. Safety and Security
- Implement security measures and protocols to ensure the safety of both youth and staff
- Follow all safety and emergency procedures
