MULTIPURPOSE CDL

DEPARTMENT:
Highway

HIRING RANGE: $28.30-$31.45/hour based on education and position related experience. Longevity pay after 3 years.

HOURS & DAYS OF WORK: 40 hours/week

LOCATION OF POSITION:
Elkhart County Highway Garages including Goshen, Elkhart or New Paris

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:
Within County (please complete driving page on application)

JOB SUMMARY:

Responsible for maintaining road signs and related devices; maintaining roadways and adjacent areas; operating vehicles and equipment; performing maintenance on equipment.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

• High school diploma or GED, must be at least 18 years of age

• Possession of and ability to maintain a Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with required endorsements and demonstrated safe driving record

• Ability to regularly work extended hours; occasionally work weekends and evenings and travel out of town, but not overnight, for training; and occasionally respond to emergencies on a 24- hour basis and/or from an off-duty status

• Working knowledge of assigned department trucks and equipment with ability to maintain roads and highways, complete related maintenance, and follow safety measures

• Criminal background check and drug screen
