Touchstone seeks a creative, organized, and nurturing individual to coordinate and lead our Extended Day Program (EDP) beginning in the 2025–2026 school year. This part-time position is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys working with children in a playful, engaging, and community-oriented environment.
The EDP Coordinator will design and lead a safe, inclusive, and enriching after-school experience for children in preschool through 8th grade. This person will also manage logistics, communication with families, and coordination of any additional EDP staff or volunteers.
Touchstone Community School is a co-educational independent day school that enrolls approximately 75 students, ages 2.9 through 8th grade. Touchstone offers a progressive, hands-on environment, where a natural pace of development is respected and play, community, integrated curriculum, and social justice activism are emphasized.

Responsibilities include:
- Creating a welcoming, engaging, and developmentally appropriate environment for students after school
- Planning and facilitating daily after-school activities (both indoor and outdoor), including games, arts, crafts, and free play
- Supervising children with care, patience, and attention to safety
- Communicating effectively with parents and guardians about student needs, schedules, and program updates
- Managing attendance and snack routines
- Coordinating coverage or support staff, as needed
- Maintaining a clean, organized, and safe after-school space
- Reporting any behavioral, health, or safety concerns to school leadership
- Experience working with children, ideally in an educational or recreational setting
- Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
- Willingness to work collaboratively and independently
- Commitment to anti-bias, inclusive, and equity-centered practices
- Enthusiasm for working with students of a wide age range (Pre-K–Grade
8) - CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
Schedule: This position is part-time and takes place Monday through Friday during the school year, approximately 2:45–5:45 PM (15 hours/week). Whole-day EPD is offered during conferences and teacher professional development days, coordinator hours on those days to be discussed.
