What You'll Do
The position of Quality Assurance Technician is involved in a series of activities related to the control of our key manufacturing processes. This position reports to the Production Foreman. The responsibilities include a mixture of process development work, reviewing test results, and assisting in the management of designated critical processes. This position is Monday - Thursday from 3:00 pm - 1:00 am with occasional hours required on Fridays.
There is a 90-day probation period for this position.
- Assist management throughout the plant with processes
- Perform quality assurance tests including bulk density tests, magnetics tests, and grading tests
- Review and record test results using computer programs
- Read quality control (QC) tests and consult with Production Foreman to make adjustments accordingly to maintain specifications and report bad results immediately.
To be successful in this position, you must:
- Possess a High School diploma, Trade School or Vocational High School Diploma
- Ensure quality standards are maintained to meet product specifications - ensure all material is tested
- Follow plant policies and procedures as directed by management
- Be able to follow all prescribed safe work methods and work injury free
- Have strong commitment to safety, excellent written and verbal communication skills and Strong computer skills.
- Be able to speak, read and write in English - Spanish is a plus
- Have a basic understanding of general industry work and safety practices
- Have the ability to use basic hand tools, i.e. wrenches, screw drivers, mallets
- Have the ability to perform basic math calculations
- Be able to lift a minimum of 50lbs. and stand / walk up to 10 hours a day
