primary functions:Responsible for assisting tellers and maintaining/monitoring internal controls within branch teller operations. Ensure adherence of established Member Service Expectations, along with monitoring, scheduling, and evaluating tellers to ensure a smooth and orderly operation of the teller line and related functions.
responsibilities:- Perform all duties as defined in the teller job description.
- Greet and welcome members and visitors to the credit union in a professional manner. Provide prompt, efficient, and accurate service in the processing of transactions.
- Create positive and engaging culture for teller line and branch.
- Serve as vault teller, balance lobby ATM and coin machine daily.
- Manage vault cash in sole control, including cash orders, shipments, and mutilated money and maintain vault cash inventory.
- Perform surprise cash audits of tellers as directed by Branch Manager.
- Ensure that all negotiable and confidential records and cash drawers are properly secured in vault.
- Provide tellers with transaction overrides within Lead Teller limits.
- Ensure each teller balances daily and provide assistance to locate any differences.
- Ensure any out of balance conditions are properly handled and reported.
- Knowledgeable of disaster recovery plan and post-disaster procedures.
- Ensure compliance with Branch Internal Review.
- May be required to maintain active notary certification.
- Ensure that the appearance of the teller area and personnel are neat, organized, and in accordance with Credit Union policy.
- Ensure tellers understand role and procedures in the event of robbery and post robbery procedures.
- Work with Branch Manager to ensure tellers are trained and cross-trained in all phases of their job(s) to ensure quality service to membership.
- Assist with escalated member issues.
- Educate members on the features and benefits of credit union products and services.
- Collaborate with and provide input to the Branch Manager to evaluate job performance of the tellers.
- Comply with all federal regulations, credit union policies and procedures, including Bank Secrecy and the USA Patriot Act.
- Perform job duties in accordance with the Credit Union's values, mission and vision.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Six months retail teller or retail experience preferred.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and a desire to interact with members.
- Ability to handle high volume of transactions accurately and efficiently.
- Must have basic computer skills and ability to use Microsoft Outlook.
