Accentuate Staffing is currently seeking a Buyer for a growing client in Graham, NC. This is a direct-hire opportunity offering strong career growth within a dynamic OEM environment.
Responsibilities- Negotiate pricing and terms for components, equipment, and supplies with vendors and suppliers.
- Enter purchase orders into the ERP system accurately, including expected ship dates and required documentation.
- Improve and implement purchasing procedures, controls, and standardized workflows.
- Expedite materials and prioritize suppliers to support urgent, short‑lead‑time, and project‑critical needs.
- Partner with internal teams to resolve supply shortages, delays, and quality issues.
- Provide delivery dates and supply updates to Project Managers, Service, and Operations teams.
- Own key purchasing KPIs, including On‑Time Delivery, PO Backlog, PO Accuracy (ship date, price, account, etc.), and Premium Freight usage.
- Qualify, source, and negotiate with suppliers while identifying cost‑reduction opportunities and strengthening the supply base.
- Continuously evaluate supplier performance and develop new sourcing options as needed.
- Collaborate daily with Engineering and suppliers to support product and project requirements.
- Lead sourcing activities throughout project phases, serving as the primary point of contact for suppliers and internal stakeholders.
- Participate actively in the Project Buyer network to share best practices and support cross‑functional initiatives.
- Monitor key supplier metrics, resolve performance issues, and assess supplier capacity and capability.
- Drive corrective actions for supplier defects and manage returned materials processes.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Materials Management, Accounting, Logistics, or equivalent experience (military experience accepted).
- 5–8 years of direct purchasing experience in an OEM or manufacturing environment.
- Strong background in materials management, including inventory control, physical inventory, and logistics.
- Solid working knowledge of mechanical items and electrical components.
- Proficiency with ERP systems and Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to evaluate, prioritize, and manage multiple tasks, risks, and project milestones.
- Self‑starter with the ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, dynamic environment.
