Manufacturing Engineer
The Manufacturing Engineer leads and executes continuous improvement initiatives in a fast-paced, high-volume production environment. This role focuses on optimizing manufacturing processes, improving operational efficiency, and ensuring the reliability and performance of production lines. The Manufacturing Engineer works closely with cross-functional teams to drive process improvements, support troubleshooting efforts, and maintain high standards of safety, quality, and regulatory compliance.
Responsibilities- Identify and implement process improvements and cost-saving initiatives across manufacturing operations.
- Collaborate closely with production, maintenance, and quality teams to drive operational excellence.
- Optimize manufacturing line performance to increase throughput and reduce downtime.
- Support troubleshooting efforts for equipment and process issues using structured problem-solving methods.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and use data analysis to drive continuous improvement.
- Assist with capital projects, including equipment upgrades, expansions, and new installations.
- Ensure adherence to safety, quality, and regulatory standards in all manufacturing activities.
- Support new product launches and process scale-up to full production.
- Maintain accurate engineering documentation, technical records, and process standards.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives using Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen, 5S, and Value Stream Mapping.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to implement and sustain continuous improvement and operational excellence initiatives.
- Experience in manufacturing engineering and manufacturing processes.
- Proficiency in process improvement and continuous improvement methodologies, including Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Kaizen, 5S, and Value Stream Mapping.
- Ability to optimize processes for line efficiency, throughput improvement, and downtime reduction.
- Strong root cause analysis skills using structured problem-solving methodologies.
- Capability in data analysis and KPI tracking to support performance monitoring and decision-making.
- Experience working in industrial production environments and understanding of manufacturing systems.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office for analysis, documentation, and reporting.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving mindset.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills.
- Familiarity with continuous improvement tools and methodologies.
Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical Engineering, or a similar engineering discipline.
- Internship, co-op, or professional experience in manufacturing is preferred.
- Exposure to CAD software such as AutoCAD or Solid Works is a plus.
- Awareness of automation systems and PLCs is advantageous.
- Experience with process engineering and root cause failure analysis.
- Exposure to PLCs and automation systems is considered a nice-to-have.
- Interest in professional development, mentorship, and skill-building opportunities.
This role operates in a fast-paced, high-volume manufacturing setting with a strong hands-on focus. The Manufacturing Engineer spends significant time on the production floor, working closely with operations, maintenance, and quality teams on continuous improvement and operational excellence initiatives. The position involves frequent collaboration across functions and regular exposure to industrial equipment and production lines. This is a Permanent position based out of Graham, NC.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $70000.00 - $80000.00/yr. Comprehensive Benefits:
