Manufacturing Engineer

The Manufacturing Engineer leads and executes continuous improvement initiatives in a fast-paced, high-volume production environment. This role focuses on optimizing manufacturing processes, improving operational efficiency, and ensuring the reliability and performance of production lines. The Manufacturing Engineer works closely with cross-functional teams to drive process improvements, support troubleshooting efforts, and maintain high standards of safety, quality, and regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities

+ Identify and implement process improvements and cost-saving initiatives across manufacturing operations.

+ Collaborate closely with production, maintenance, and quality teams to drive operational excellence.

+ Optimize manufacturing line performance to increase throughput and reduce downtime.

+ Support troubleshooting efforts for equipment and process issues using structured problem-solving methods.

+ Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and use data analysis to drive continuous improvement.

+ Assist with capital projects, including equipment upgrades, expansions, and new installations.

+ Ensure adherence to safety, quality, and regulatory standards in all manufacturing activities.

+ Support new product launches and process scale-up to full production.

+ Maintain accurate engineering documentation, technical records, and process standards.

+ Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives using Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen, 5S, and Value Stream Mapping.

+ Partner with cross-functional teams to implement and sustain continuous improvement and operational excellence initiatives.

Essential Skills

+ Experience in manufacturing engineering and manufacturing processes.

+ Proficiency in process improvement and continuous improvement methodologies, including Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Kaizen, 5S, and Value Stream Mapping.

+ Ability to optimize processes for line efficiency, throughput improvement, and downtime reduction.

+ Strong root cause analysis skills using structured problem-solving methodologies.

+ Capability in data analysis and KPI tracking to support performance monitoring and decision-making.

+ Experience working in industrial production environments and understanding of manufacturing systems.

+ Proficiency with Microsoft Office for analysis, documentation, and reporting.

+ Strong analytical and problem-solving mindset.

+ Effective communication and teamwork skills.

+ Familiarity with continuous improvement tools and methodologies.

Additional

Skills & Qualifications

+ Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical Engineering, or a similar engineering discipline.

+ Internship, co-op, or professional experience in manufacturing is preferred.

+ Exposure to CAD software such as AutoCAD or Solid Works is a plus.

+ Awareness of automation systems and PLCs is advantageous.

Experience with process engineering and root cause failure analysis.

+ Exposure to PLCs and automation systems is considered a nice-to-have.
