A sheet metal silkscreen operator sets up and runs screen printing equipment to apply logos, text, and labels onto manufactured metal parts, enclosures, and chassis.

• Screen and Ink Prep:
  Mix specific industrial inks, prepare and burn artwork into emulsion‑coated mesh screens, and clean or reclaim screens after use.
• Machine Operation:
  Install frames, align jigs and fixtures, and operate manual or automatic silk screening presses for metal substrates.
• Quality Control:
  Inspect printed metal components for smudges, correct alignment against blueprints, and proper ink adhesion using tape tests.
• Curing and Finishing:
  Monitor drying cabinets or ovens to cure inks properly onto painted or powdercoated metal.

• Experience:
  
  1 to 3 years of experience in manufacturing, screen printing, or metal fabrication finishing.
• Technical
  
  Skills:
  
  Ability to read blueprints, technical drawings, and work orders, paired with basic mechanical aptitude.
• Physical Demands:
  Capacity to stand for long periods, perform repetitive motions, and lift 40 to 50 pounds regularly.
• Must keep area compliant with Hazardous Safety regulations and maintain accurate inventory of silkscreen chemicals.
• Must be able to do set ups and make screens as necessary for new jobs.
• Must be able to read and understand simple to complex fabrication prints, drawings, and customer specifications.
• High School Diploma or GED.
