Maintenance Supervisor II

Job Purpose

At Alamance County DSS, we’re looking for a motivated and compassionate Economic Services Supervisor to guide our dedicated team of caseworkers. In this role, you’ll not only ensure program accuracy and efficiency—you’ll help shape how our community’s most vulnerable residents access the care and support they need.

• Determine eligibility for Adult Medicaid programs such as Special Assistance, Community Alternatives Program, and Long‑Term Care.
• Plan, organize, and direct daily operations to support high‑quality service.
• Train, mentor, and set clear work standards for staff.
• Review work, provide feedback, and lead performance evaluations.
• Analyze workflow and caseloads to improve efficiency and outcomes.
• Collaborate with internal and external agencies to connect clients with vital resources.

• Three years of experience as a caseworker or investigator in an Economic Services program, with at least one year of supervisory experience; or equivalent training and experience.
• Strong knowledge of income maintenance programs and eligibility processes.
• Familiarity with DSS manuals, forms, and regulations.
• Understanding of the challenges facing disadvantaged populations.
• Awareness of available community resources and related programs.
• Sharp problem‑solving, reasoning, and organizational skills.
• Ability to lead with empathy, clarity, and accountability.
• Confidence in both written and verbal communication.
