Drafting Technician - Entry Level

We are currently seeking an entry-level Drafting Technician who is eager to learn and grow within the organization at our office in Grain Valley, MO. The ideal candidate is a motivated, detail-oriented individual looking to start a career or gain experience in the construction industry. Employees of Schefers enjoy a collaborative work environment in a casual office setting.

Responsibilities include, but not limited to:

* Work closely with estimators and project managers to obtain information associated with job submittals

* Prepare drawings with the use of AutoCAD

* Complete drawings based on client requirements from review of initial technical blueprints through AutoCAD with adherence to established specifications

* Document all changes, issues, or communications related to jobs

Ideal qualifications for this position include:

* Experience with or knowledge of AutoCAD LT

* Strong organization and planning skills

* Strong attention to detail and quality of work

* The ability to work without oversight, and function in a team setting

* Will ask questions and research to find correct information

* Construction-related background is a plus
