Job DescriptionA Store Manager oversees the convenience store and food operations at the truck stop, ensuring maximum sales and profitability while supervising store personnel. Managers are paid hourly based on the number of hours worked.
Primary Responsibilities- Ensure successful operation of the store according to company policies and procedures.
- Perform all duties of a store associate and any additional responsibilities assigned.
- Meet or exceed store guidelines in inventory, cash control, and budgeted hours.
- Develop and maintain staffing schedules to ensure customer satisfaction while staying within budget.
- Accurately complete all administrative duties and required reports.
- Follow all corporate cash procedures and enforce cash policies.
- Manage customer relations courteously and effectively.
- Oversee store maintenance and report major equipment problems.
- Enforce all company policies and local, state, and federal laws.
- Ensure store safety and proper product stocking.
- Monitor fuel inventories and report discrepancies.
- Interview, select, hire, and train store personnel.
- Conduct performance evaluations and provide coaching or discipline as needed.
- Terminate staff as required following company policies.
- Attend manager meetings, required training, and conduct regular employee meetings.
- Communicate openly with management on important issues.
- Starting pay: $60,000 to $90,000 (based on a 50‑hour work week). Experience can increase starting pay.
- Additional $0.50 per hour for shifts from midnight to 6 a.m.
- Annual performance review after 90 days; subsequent reviews thereafter.
- Health insurance available within 90 days of start date.
- Vacation pay, overtime pay for hours over 40 (including holiday overtime), and annual bonus based on store profits.
- Must be available for weekend, evening shifts, and holidays.
- Reliable transportation required.
- Must attend mandatory meetings (e.g., T.A.M., sexual harassment).
- Physical abilities: frequent bending, reaching, lifting 1–15 lbs; occasionally lift up to 50 lbs; reach above shoulder height and bend below waist; freely access all store areas; move quickly around store.
