The Sourcing Specialist is responsible for identifying, evaluating, developing, and managing supplier relationships to support organizational objectives. This role ensures the timely and cost-effective procurement of materials, products, and services while maintaining quality, delivery, and performance standards. The position works closely with Operations, Engineering, Production, Quality, and Supply Chain teams to support business goals and drive continuous improvement.
- Conduct market research to identify qualified suppliers and sourcing opportunities.
- Evaluate suppliers based on quality, cost, delivery, capacity, and technical capabilities.
- Prepare and issue RFQs, RFPs, and supplier bid requests.
- Analyze supplier proposals and recommend sourcing decisions.
- Develop and maintain positive supplier relationships.
- Conduct supplier site visits, audits, and capability assessments.
- Negotiate pricing, contracts, payment terms, and delivery schedules.
- Monitor supplier performance through KPIs and scorecards.
- Support supplier corrective actions and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Identify cost-reduction opportunities while maintaining quality and service levels.
- Support supplier qualification, onboarding, and performance management activities.
- Collaborate with Engineering, Production, Quality, and Planning teams.
- Support sourcing activities that align with production schedules and operational requirements.
- Assist with resolving supplier-related issues affecting quality, cost, or delivery performance.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives across sourcing and supply chain functions.
- Maintain effective communication with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
- Prepare sourcing and supplier performance reports for management review.
- Coordinate supplier activities to support organizational objectives and project requirements.
- Escalate supplier performance concerns and sourcing risks as required.
- Maintain accurate sourcing, pricing, contract, and supplier records within ERP systems.
- Ensure documentation compliance and data integrity within company systems.
- Support reporting, analysis, and record retention requirements.
- Assist with audits and documentation reviews as required.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Education & Experience
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Manufacturing, Engineering, or related field preferred.
- Minimum 3–5 years of sourcing, procurement, purchasing, or supply chain experience.
- Manufacturing environment experience required.
- Experience negotiating contracts and supplier agreements.
- CPSM, CPSD, or other supply chain certifications preferred.

- Ability to work in office and manufacturing environments.
- Ability to walk production facilities and supplier locations.
- Occasional lifting of up to 25 pounds.
