Primary Purpose
Provide students with appropriate learning activities and experiences designed to fulfill their potential for intellectual, emotional, physical, and social growth. Enable students to develop competencies and skills to function successfully in society. Teachers will equip all students with skills to be inspired, contributing citizens excelling in any chosen endeavor within a dynamic global society. Teachers will provide Leadership, Engagement, and Innovation within their classroom to foster student success.

Granbury ISD requires three references from former employers, college professors, supervisors, etc., with at least a minimum of two references from previous supervisors. References from friends or family members will not be accepted.
Qualifications
- Education/Certification: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university;
Valid Texas teaching certificate with required endorsements for the assigned subject/level;
Meet Highly Qualified standards per No Child Left Behind Act. - Special Knowledge/
Skills:
Knowledge of assigned subjects;
General knowledge of curriculum and instruction; CDL required if transporting students (CTE teachers, coaches, extracurricular activities) – acceptable driving record, Class B CDL with Air Brake, Passenger, & School Bus endorsements, ability to pass a DOT physical (renewed yearly), completion of 20‑hour bus driver certification course (renewed every 3 years). - Experience: Student teaching or approved internship.
Major Responsibilities and Duties
Develop and implement plans for the curriculum program assigned and show written evidence of preparation as required.Prepare and differentiate lessons that reflect accommodations for individual student differences.Present the subject matter according to guidelines established by Texas Education Agency, board policy, and administrative guidelines.Plan and use appropriate instructional/learning strategies, activities, materials, and equipment that reflect accommodation for individual needs of students assigned.Be aware of various student‑learning styles and use professional judgement in selecting instructional activities.Work cooperatively with special education teachers to modify curricula as needed for special education students according to guidelines established by Individual Education Plans (IEP).Maintain accurate records in relation to student grading that accurately reflects what is being taught through TEKS based instruction.Use assessment results to drive instruction for individual students as well as classes as a whole.Cooperate with other members of the staff in planning and implementing instructional goals, objectives, and methods according to district requirements.Plan and supervise purposeful assignments for teacher aide(s) and/or volunteers(s).Use technologies in the teaching/learning process.Assist students in analyzing and improving methods and habits of study.Consistently assess student achievement activities through summative and formative assessments.Assume responsibilities for extracurricular activities as assigned and, if desired, may sponsor outside activities approved by the school.Present a positive role model for students that supports the mission of the school district.Create a classroom environment conductive to learning and appropriate to the physical, social, and emotional development of students.Manage student behavior in the classroom and administer discipline according to board policies, administrative regulations, and, if applicable, IEP.Take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials and facilities.Assist in the selection of books, equipment, and other instructional materials.Establish and maintain open lines of communication with students and their parents.Maintain a professional relationship with all colleagues, students, parents, and community members.Use acceptable communication skills to present information accurately…
