Teacher Residency Program
Granbury ISD requires three references from former employers, college professors, supervisors, etc. with at least a minimum of two references being from previous supervisors. Granbury ISD will not accept references from friends or family members.
DUTY DAYS: 187
Primary PurposeParticipate in a year-long clinical teaching residency designed to prepare teacher candidates for Texas teacher certification. The Teacher Resident will apply research-based instructional practices, teaching strategies, classroom management techniques, and professional dispositions while working collaboratively with a Cooperating Teacher, Site Coordinator, and campus staff. The Teacher Resident will engage in planning, instruction, assessment, reflection, and continuous professional growth to develop the knowledge, skills, and ethical dispositions necessary to become an effective educator.
QualificationsEducation/Certification:
• Admission to the Tarleton State University Teacher Education Program
• Enrollment in Teacher Residency I (EDUC 4391) and Teacher Residency II (EDUC 4692)
• Eligibility to participate in a year-long clinical teaching placement in an accredited Texas public school
• Completion of all program requirements and certification testing requirements as outlined by Tarleton State University and the Texas Education Agency

• Knowledge of content and pedagogy appropriate to certification area
• Understanding of research-based instructional practices and teaching strategies
• Ability to work collaboratively with students, teachers, families, and school personnel
