Facility Operator

Summary

Aqua, an Essential Utilities company, is searching for a Facility Operator to operate/maintain water and wastewater treatment facilities and distribution systems. • Perform scheduled plant inspections and serve as Operator on responsible charge of assigned systems.
• Monitor gauges, meters, and control panels; control variations and operating conditions of the treatment process; record readings.
• Maintain all records pertaining to production, maintenance, and treatment, including reading charts, flow meters, and gauges to detect equipment malfunctions.
• Collect samples and perform necessary chemical analysis in accordance with system sampling requirements.
• Extract samples and perform routine laboratory tests, documenting and certifying test results.
• Perform other duties or special projects related to the area of responsibility.
• Be available to work overtime and “on call” as scheduled.
• Address service orders pertaining to customer service, water distribution and/or collections system calls.

• High school graduate or GED equivalent.
• Water/Wastewater certification not required; C‑Well or GradeI wastewater license a plus.
• Valid U.S. Driver’s License.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills; communicate effectively with customers.
• Strong customer service skills.
• Ability to work well under pressure.
• Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and adapt to changing priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
• Team player able to work effectively in a fostered multitasking environment.

• Facility Operator Trainee:
  Must obtain a Class “C” groundwater license from TCEQ within 18 months of employment.
• Facility Operator I:
  Must currently possess a valid TCEQ Class “C” groundwater license or a valid TCEQ Class “C” wastewater license.
• Facility Operator II:
  Must currently possess a valid TCEQ Class “B” groundwater license or a valid TCEQ Class “B” wastewater license.
• Facility Operator III:
  Must possess a valid TCEQ Class “B” groundwater license AND a valid TCEQ Class “B” wastewater license.

Potential exposure to extreme temperatures, noise, wet and/or humid conditions, mechanical, electrical, gas hazards, fumes, dust, mists, gases and/or poor ventilation. Ability to lift and carry up to 75 pounds. Working conditions include travel to work sites of Essential Utilities and/or other constituents. Company vehicle provided for business purposes.
