What you'll do- Hiring, managing, and developing the operations management team including facilities managers, chief engineering managers and engineering operations technicians.
- Attainment of organizational performance goals and objectives relating to safety, security, availability, scaling, and efficiency in support of our data center operations.
- Plan and execute the Infrastructure Operations component of new AWS data center build-outs, new colocation build-outs, AWS data center expansions, and colocation expansions, including the entire mechanical/electrical/plumbing infrastructure to facilitate daily operation.
- Operation and maintenance of mechanical, electrical, and controls systems for Amazon data centers, including preventive maintenance, corrective maintenance, and change management.
- Vendor management of colocation data center services providers, if required, to meet or exceed contracted performance SLAs.
- Oversight of a preventive maintenance system and adherence to schedules, evaluation and performance of infrastructure supporting data center operations.
- Experience in in sourcing and/or outsourcing maintenance tasks balancing internal skillsets with frugality.
- Safety, security, and availability incident response, incident management, and incident resolution.
- Continuous improvement of operational processes, procedures, methods, and tools.
- Bachelor's degree or above in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field
- Experience in delivering design solutions for projects of large scope and complexity
- Experience managing large teams across multiple locations and languages, or experience as an acting operations manager
- Experience in written and verbal communication skills to communicate with technical and non-technical audiences, including senior leadership
- 5+ years of analytical, quantitative, communication, and presentations experience
- 10+ years of relevant work in a data center or other critical environment experience
- Experience with continuous improvement methods such as Kaizen, Lean, DMAIC, etc.
- Knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems
- Experience in one or more IT infrastructure domains (storage, compute, networking, security, software development, systems administration, database engineering or administration, machine learning, cloud infrastructure, big data, Dev Ops, or other IT infrastructure domain)

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $164,100/year in our lowest geographic market up to $313,300/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
