We are looking to hire a Manufacturing Engineer immediately! The Manufacturing Engineer will support production by developing, improving, and sustaining manufacturing processes, equipment, and tooling. This role plays a key part in implementing automated manufacturing processes and works closely with production, quality, supply chain, and design engineering teams to enhance manufacturing efficiency, resolve production issues, and support new product introductions.
Responsibilities- Develop and maintain robust manufacturing processes and detailed work instructions to support consistent production quality.
- Support machining, fabrication, welding, and assembly operations by providing clear process guidance and technical expertise.
- Collaborate with design engineering to ensure new product designs are manufacturable, efficient, and aligned with production capabilities.
- Support the implementation of automated manufacturing equipment and processes to increase efficiency and consistency.
- Work with equipment vendors and integrators during equipment installation, commissioning, and startup to ensure successful deployment.
- Help develop manufacturing layouts and workflows for automated production areas to optimize material flow and resource utilization.
- Provide day-to-day engineering support to production teams, responding quickly to issues and ensuring minimal disruption to operations.
- Troubleshoot manufacturing problems, identify root causes, and implement effective, sustainable solutions.
- Identify opportunities to improve workflow, eliminate bottlenecks, and enhance overall throughput.
- Lead and support process improvement initiatives focused on reducing cycle time, improving productivity, and lowering manufacturing costs.
- Participate actively in lean and continuous improvement initiatives to drive operational excellence.
- Develop tooling, fixtures, and production equipment that support safe, efficient, and repeatable manufacturing operations.
- Support the evaluation, selection, and implementation of new manufacturing equipment to align with strategic production needs.
- Ensure adherence to safety procedures and promote safe work practices in all process and equipment designs.
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant engineering discipline.
- 3-5 years of relevant engineering experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong manufacturing engineering experience, including experience with process development and production support.
- Excellent interpersonal and team-building skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
- Effective verbal and listening communication skills to convey technical information clearly.
- High attention to detail, strong accuracy, and superior organizational skills.
- Proficiency with computer applications, including the MS Office Suite.
- Experience working with ERP systems in a manufacturing setting.
- Strong stress management and time management skills, with the ability to handle multiple priorities.
- Commitment to safety and consistent adherence to safety procedures.
- Demonstrated problem-solving, decision-making, and critical-thinking skills.
- Proficiency in creating and interpreting process flow diagrams and documenting process improvements.
- Experience developing and maintaining shop floor work instructions.
- Demonstrated leadership in lean methods and concepts.
- Ability to liaise effectively with production, quality, supply chain, and design engineering teams on new and existing projects.
- Completion of required OSHA safety training.
- Completion of in-house safety training as defined by the facility.
