Primary Care Nurse Practitioner – Copperas Cove, TX
Valor Healthcare is a veteran and physician‑led provider seeking a Primary Care Nurse Practitioner to join our Community Based Outpatient Clinic (CBOC) in Copperas Cove, TX. Core Responsibilities- Actively diagnose and treat veterans under the direction and responsibility of a supervising physician.
- Examine patients for symptoms of organic or congenital disorders.
- Develop and implement patient management plans and assist in verification of continuity of care.
- Order and perform diagnostic tests such as x‑ray, electrocardiogram, and laboratory tests; interpret results and provide follow‑up care.
- Provide counseling on prescription medications, educate patients, assess mental health issues, and conduct routine health maintenance.
- Evaluate patients’ records from external medical providers and work with them under VA co‑management rules.
- Complete all required clinical reminders and documentation within 24 hours of each patient encounter.
- Comply with all VA guidelines regarding patient requests, alerts, consults, orders, lab results, and diagnostic studies.
- Adhere to the VA formulary process and consult protocols.
- Ensure timely completion of all clinical documentation by close of business.
- Meet all VA and company training requirements.
- Fulfill compliance requirements of OIG, Joint Commission, Environment of Care, lab compliance, and other related items.
- Deliver excellent customer service to veterans, colleagues, and clinic visitors in person and over the phone.
- Participate in clinic outreach events to support enrollment initiatives.
- Support patient enrollment and retention by offering guidance on scheduling and follow‑up visits or nurse visits.
- Embrace and support new initiatives, whether clinical or operational.
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing and of an accredited nurse practitioner program (MSN required), including preceptorship.
- Certification by an applicable professional organization.
- Minimum one year (three years preferred) of clinical experience as a CRNP within the last four years in a related primary or ambulatory care setting; government healthcare experience preferred.
- Credentialed and in good standing with the Veterans Health Administration.
- Current, unrestricted license in the state of employment or any U.S. state/territory as required.
- Current Basic Life Support and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support certifications.
- Current, unrestricted DEA registration.
- Proficiency in written and spoken English.
- Strong computer skills.
- Energetic, optimistic demeanor.
- Strong service mentality and focus on achieving defined service standards.
- Position considered safety‑sensitive.
