Job Description

The Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse is responsible for providing comprehensive care in Labor, Delivery, Recovery, and Postpartum (LDRP) settings within an 8-bed unit. This role involves managing intrapartum care, including induction, high-risk monitoring, and fetal heart rate interpretation, as well as participating in newborn stabilization and assessments.

Responsibilities

• Provide full-scope LDRP nursing care to mothers and newborns.
• Circulate C-sections and manage high-risk labor scenarios.
• Conduct fetal heart monitoring and Pitocin titration.
• Engage in immediate newborn resuscitation and stabilization.
• Perform routine assessments and postpartum care for stable mothers and infants.
• Adapt to changing census and staffing needs between labor, nursery, and couplet care assignments.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Active RN Licensure.
• BLS and ACLS certifications from AHA or ARC.
• 2 years of RN experience in a Labor and Delivery context.
• Intermediate Fetal Monitoring and STABLE preferred.
• Ability to circulate C-sections and manage high-risk labor.
• Competent in postpartum/couplet care and neonatal resuscitation.
