Role Description The Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant role at Ken Hill Health Center is an on-site, part-time or full-time position based in Granbury, TX. The NP/PA will provide direct patient care, including health assessments, diagnosis, treatment planning, and management of acute and chronic conditions for uninsured individuals. Daily responsibilities include conducting examinations, ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests, prescribing medications, and coordinating referrals to specialty care when needed.
The role also involves patient education on disease prevention, wellness, and self-management, as well as documentation of care in accordance with regulatory and clinic standards. The NP/PA will collaborate closely with physicians, nurses, volunteers, and support staff to deliver integrated, culturally sensitive, and accessible care.
Qualifications
- Current Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) license, with no restrictions
- Clinical expertise in primary care or family practice, including assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up for diverse patient populations.
- Strong patient education and communication skills, with the ability to explain medical information clearly and support informed decision-making.
- Experience working with underserved or uninsured communities, and a demonstrated commitment to equitable, compassionate care.
- Ability to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team and build positive relationships with volunteers, donors, and community partners.
- Proficiency in maintaining accurate clinical documentation, following evidence-based guidelines, and adhering to applicable regulations and ethical standards.
- Bilingual skills (especially English/Spanish) are a plus, along with familiarity with community resources and public health initiatives.
