This is a full-time, on-site School Bus Driver role located in Granbury, TX. The School Bus Driver safely transports students to and from school, field trips, and district activities following designated routes and schedules. This role includes conducting pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections, reporting maintenance needs, and ensuring the bus is clean, orderly, and compliant with safety regulations. The driver maintains student safety and positive behavior on the bus by following district policies and using clear, respectful communication.
Additional responsibilities include keeping accurate transportation records, collaborating with transportation staff and campus personnel, and participating in required training and safety meetings.
- Safe driving skills including Truck Driving and Defensive Driving, with a strong safety-first mindset.
- Valid CDL Class B (or ability to obtain) with required passenger and school bus endorsements, in good standing.
- Strong Communication and Customer Service skills to interact professionally with students, families, and staff.
- Ability to follow routes and schedules, manage time effectively, and respond calmly to unexpected situations or traffic conditions.
- Clean driving record, ability to pass required background checks, physical examinations, and drug/alcohol testing in accordance with district and state regulations.
- Reliability and punctuality, with the ability to work split shifts aligned with school start and end times, and occasional extra routes for activities or events.
- Commitment to creating an inclusive, respectful environment for students of all backgrounds and abilities.
- Previous experience driving school buses or commercial vehicles is beneficial but not required; training may be provided for qualified candidates.
