Position SummaryProvide art instruction to participants of different ages and ensure that they thrive and are successful within the program. In addition, this position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit charitable organization committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility.
Essential Functions- Previous experience and knowledge of art techniques and programming
- Ability to work with children of all ages.
- Able to communicate effectively with participants, parents, and other staff
- Be a team player, must work well with others.
- Show initiative as well as leadership skills.
- Ability to think creatively and with an open mind.
- Must be able to pass a criminal background check.
- Ability to walk, stand, and sit (including on the floor) for long periods of time.
- Must be able to lift and/or assist children up to 30 pounds in weight.
- Visual and auditory ability to respond to critical situations and physical ability to act swiftly in an emergency.
