Job Description

Granby Public Schools is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) to support our students. The RBT will provide direct behavioral support and implement individualized behavior intervention plans under the supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA).

The ideal candidate will support students in developing communication, social, academic, adaptive, and self-regulation skills while promoting independence and positive behavior within a highly collaborative, student-centered environment.

Responsibilities
  • Implement individualized behavior support plans and ABA-based interventions as directed by a BCBA.
  • Provide direct support to students in classroom and school environments.
  • Teach and reinforce positive behaviors, communication skills, social skills, and daily living skills.
  • Support students in increasing independence and participation in school activities.
  • Collect, record, and maintain accurate behavioral data and progress monitoring information.
  • Assist with identifying patterns in behavior and communicating observations to supervising staff.
  • Utilize positive reinforcement strategies and evidence-based practices.
  • Support students during transitions, structured activities, and less structured settings.
  • Collaborate with teachers, special education staff, related service providers, and families.
  • Maintain student confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards and professional expectations.
  • Participate in training, supervision, and professional development opportunities.
Qualifications
  • Current Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification through the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB) required.
  • High school diploma required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree in education, psychology, behavioral science, or related field preferred.
  • Experience working with children or individuals with developmental disabilities, autism, or behavioral needs preferred.
  • Knowledge of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) principles and behavior support strategies.
  • Strong communication, organization, and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to remain patient, flexible, and supportive while working with students with diverse needs.

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to collect accurate data.
  • Commitment to supporting inclusion and student success.

This position is 10 months (183 days). Rate of pay is $/hour, based on experience. Hours are 8:15 am - 3:15 pm.
