Our client, a leading aerospace manufacturer, is seeking a highly skilled CNC Milling/Turning Machinist to join their 2nd Shift team. This role supports the production of complex, high‑value aerospace components where precision, quality, and craftsmanship are critical. The ideal candidate is an experienced aerospace machinist who can independently set up, operate, and troubleshoot multi‑axis CNC equipment while consistently producing parts to extremely tight tolerances.
Key Responsibilities- Set up, operate, and troubleshoot CNC milling equipment used to manufacture precision aerospace components.
- Independently operate 3, 4, and 5‑axis CNC machines in a high‑precision manufacturing environment.
- Perform complete machine setups, including fixture installation, tooling setup, and work offset adjustments.
- Interpret blueprints, operation sheets, setup instructions, and CNC programs to ensure accurate machining.
- Utilize tooling balls to establish fixture locations and verify part features during setup.
- Machine complex components manufactured from Inconel, Hastelloy, Titanium, Stainless Steel, and Aluminum.
- Produce components ranging from approximately 10 to 60 inches in size while maintaining dimensional accuracy.
- Monitor machining operations and make tooling and offset adjustments as required.
- Operate multiple CNC machines simultaneously within a manufacturing cell when production demands allow.
- Perform in‑process inspections using a variety of precision measuring instruments.
- Maintain a safe, organized, and quality‑focused work environment while meeting production objectives.
- 8–10+ years of CNC machining experience in an aerospace manufacturing environment.
- Extensive experience operating and setting up 3, 4, and 5‑axis CNC milling machines.
- Experience with Fanuc and/or Okuma CNC controls.
- Strong understanding of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) and the ability to accurately interpret GD&T symbols.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, operation sheets, setup instructions, and CNC programs.
- Experience performing complete machine setups, including fixture alignment and tooling installation.
- Ability to set tooling and adjust machine offsets as required.
- Familiarity with Renishaw probing systems and touch setters.
- Ability to consistently machine components to tolerances as tight as ±0.0005 inch.
- Strong mathematical aptitude and mechanical troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a team environment.
