Field Sales Executive III – East Granby, CT
Salary Range: $104,000 to $125,000
Your RoleIn this role, you will establish relationships and secure contracts for our logistics operations through direct and indirect sales methods. You will identify business growth opportunities and develop strategies to increase company sales. You will thrive in a dynamic environment focused on shaping logistics solutions.
What are you going to do?- Establish relationships with new customers and secure contracts.
- Drive the entire sales cycle from initial customer engagement to closing sales.
- Build and maintain a healthy sales pipeline to meet or exceed sales targets.
- Prospect potential customers using direct methods such as calling and face‑to‑face meetings, and indirect methods such as networking.
- Provide best‑case forecasts and sales volume projections over relevant time periods.
- Give sales presentations, submit opportunities, and submit activity and results reports to leadership.
- Develop and maintain functional knowledge of the products, services, and operations offered by the company.
- Interact regularly with station and operations managers and develop close, cooperative working relationships with operational staff to ensure customers’ needs are met.
- Schedule and conduct a pre‑determined number of face‑to‑face sales visits as directed by sales or station management.
- Input sales call information into the sales data system or other designated software and provide sales reports as directed.
- Maintain a pre‑determined number of target accounts and demonstrate active attention to those accounts, progressing toward closing.
- Meet or exceed sales threshold/quota as defined by the company.
- Work cooperatively with other sales and operational staff to support a team‑selling environment.
- Education and Experience: Logistics, transportation, or supply‑chain knowledge with 5+ years experience.
- Preferred:
Bachelor’s Degree; experience in sales within transportation, willing to consider candidates with 10+ years experience in lieu of a degree. - Hunter mentality; business‑to‑business sales experience with a proven history of sales achievements in a base plus commission environment.
- Experience closing sales at the executive level.
- Will consider people transitioning from operations, account management, or customer service in logistics, transportation, or supply chain to sales.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (including PowerPoint), internet, web‑based, and job‑specific software applications.
- Ability to generate complex, error‑free charts, graphs, spreadsheets, and presentations.
- Characteristics: Self‑motivated, results‑driven, and capable of working independently with little supervision; sense of urgency and follow‑up; strong persuasive and negotiation skills; strong problem‑solving skills; positive, competitive, confident sales approach; entrepreneur‑mindset.
