Rate of Pay: $12.48 per hour

Schedule:

M-F 10:00 am-3:00 pm

The Student Support Room Assistant provides direct support to students who require structured sensory breaks, behavioral guidance, and a calm, supervised environment. This role involves helping students regulate emotions, maintain focus, and transition smoothly back to the classroom.

• Provide sensory breaks and support for students who need regulated downtime throughout the school day.
• Maintain a safe, supportive, and structured environment within the student support room.
• Monitor and reinforce positive student behaviors using appropriate behavioral support strategies.
• Assist students in developing self-regulation, coping skills, and successful classroom readiness.
• Maintain and organize student support stations, sensory tools, and activity areas.
• Collaborate with teachers, aides, and support staff to meet individual student needs.
• Build positive, encouraging relationships with students and model respectful communication.

• Enjoys working closely with students of varying needs and backgrounds.
• Patient, consistent, and able to remain calm in challenging situations.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to follow behavior support plans and maintain confidentiality.
