Under the supervision of the Police Sergeant receives and processes all telephone calls to the police department. Takes calls for assistance and dispatches police units. Monitors radio networks to receive, relay, and transmit messages. Conducts record checks, maintains radio logs and performs a wide range of routine clerical support activities for departmental personnel.

- Operator License Image Files
- Warrant Confirmation
- Warrant Cancellation
- Entry of Selected Felony Warrants
- Obtain Prison Records
- Verification of all Department LEIN Entries
- Missing Persons/Runaways
- Area Broadcasts (wanted persons, investigative leads etc.)
- License Plate Queries
- Taking of complaints
- Copying of reports for citizens
- Fielding citizens questions
- Referrals to other agencies/departments
- Bicycle registrations for Township residents
- Citizen satisfaction surveys
- Business checks
- Traffic stops
- Liquor Inspections
- Vacation checks
- Detectives’ complaint follow-up
- Maintains subpoena logs
- Maintains liquor license files/inspections
- Court materials including
- Transcribes suspect/witness interview tapes in a timely manner.
- Readies criminal/non-criminal complaints for assignment to the detective bureau.
- Maintains patrol and detective bureau statistics.
- Maintains Fingerprint database using Live Scan
- Maintains the criminal mugshot files

Education & ExperienceEducation: Possess a High School diploma with telephone, typing, computer skills and transcribing skills.
Experience: This is an entry-level classification with a one-year orientation period.
This person should be highly motivated, outgoing, and have a pleasant disposition.
Other combinations of education and experience, which could provide the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job, should be considered.
