Cardiac Cath Lab Tech II (Cath/EP Lab) – 13 Week Contract
Location: Grand Blanc (1 Genesys Pkwy)
Contract Length: 13 Weeks (89 Contract Days)
Guaranteed Hours: 40 per week
Schedule: 6:30 AM – 5:00 PM, 4 weekdays (1 variable weekday off)
On-Call Requirements:
- 1 weekend per month (Friday 5:00 PM – Monday 6:30 AM)
- 4 weeknights per month (5:00 PM – 6:30 AM)
- No weekend commitment outside of on-call
- Minimum 1–2 years recent Cath/EP Lab experience
- Must be able to scrub for:
- Diagnostic & interventional heart caths
- Peripheral vascular procedures
- Structural heart procedures
- Electrophysiology (EP) procedures
- Strong hemodynamic monitoring skills
- Knowledge of Merge Hemo documentation system preferred
- Advanced ECG interpretation (including lethal arrhythmias)
- ACLS-based intervention during cardiac arrest
- Coronary anatomy identification in cine angiography
- Cardiac pressure waveform interpretation
- Hemodynamic calculations
- Cardiac output, O2 saturation & ACT monitoring
- Experience with:
- PTCA
- Atherectomy (rotational & directional)
- Angio Jet, Rotablator, laser devices
- IVUS & Doppler technologies
- Pacemakers, ICDs, ablations
- Knowledge of cardiac medications (generic & trade)
- Recognizes abnormal lab values (ABGs, electrolytes, Hgb, BUN, creatinine)
Required:
- BLS (BCLS)
- ACLS (required within 6 months if not current)
- High School Diploma or G.E.D.
- Graduate of accredited Allied Health program
Preferred Licensure:
- RCIS (Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist)
- RCES (Registered Cardiac Electrophysiology Specialist)
- ARRT with CI or VI credentials (with Cath lab scrub experience)
- Strong scrub skills across all Cath/EP procedures
- Comfortable working independently and within a multidisciplinary team
- Assists with staff training and orientation
- Participates in committees and special projects
- Adheres to medical ethics and customer service standards
- Demonstrates professionalism, teamwork, and adaptability
