Machine Program Setup Operator (Mazak) - 1st Shift

General Summary of the Job:
This position is for a mechanically inclined individual who possesses a positive attitude and desire for continuous improvement. The role involves installing, maintaining, and repairing machine components. The operator will be a key player in ensuring first‑time quality and on‑time delivery of change‑over components to the headers.

• Assist machine operators on new job development.
• Operate Tool Room equipment with limited supervision to meet quality and productivity requirements (horizontal, vertical hones, OD/, surface grinders, centerless, and polishing).
• Read manufacturing and tooling prints, select and prepare necessary tools to meet print tolerances.
• Use Toolroom inspection equipment (micrometers, calipers, indicators, contour tracers, microscope, comparators).
• Maintain cleanliness of work area.
• Follow company safety guidelines.
• Perform preventative maintenance as required.
• Program and set up CNC machines.
• Use tools to perform turning, milling, drilling, and boring.
• Inspect tooling independently.
• Apply strong mathematical and problem‑solving skills.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.

• Basic computer skills using Google Workspace (Sheets, Docs, Drive, Chat, Gmail, etc.).
• Solid math skills.
• Mechanically inclined with shop classes or manufacturing process training.
• Basic problem‑solving skills and ability to identify routine problem causation and correct routine problems.
• Willingness to learn new areas of the business.
