Full-Time Days (7a‑5:30p, Monday‑Friday) with Night/Weekend/Holiday on‑call rotation.

Endoscopy – GI 008

• Use independent professional judgment, analytical skills, and the nursing process to provide a full range of delegated, interdependent, and independent nursing services to patients.
• Demonstrate clinical competence, compassion, customer‑service orientation, and cost‑consciousness while planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing care with the Seven Dimensions of Patient Care and Benner's Domains of Nursing Practice.
• Provide patient care that respects patient rights, dignity, values, culture, and preferences; assess and educate patients and families through a variety of techniques.
• Collaborate with patients, families, staff, and community agencies to develop discharge plans and ensure continuity of care.
• Perform comprehensive assessments, including risk for falls, skin breakdown, VTE, aspiration, and medication reconciliation.
• Document nursing interventions (NIC), progress toward outcomes (NOC), and patient education in accordance with established documentation guidelines.
• Administer therapeutic regimens, basic nursing procedures, and medical interventions; maintain peripheral IV therapy; obtain specimens; perform blood capillary glucose monitoring.
• Prepare patients for surgery or invasive procedures, utilize equipment per manufacturer instructions, and troubleshoot pumps and beds.
• Monitor physiologic parameters, respond to acute changes in respiratory, neurologic, cardiac, and urinary status, and utilize SBAR for communication with physicians.
• Respond to emergencies with CPR and immediate interventions, perform emergency equipment checks, and support families during crises.
• Promote a physically safe environment, use restraints documentation as per policy, and practice universal precautions.
• Assist in evaluating new products and nursing practices; support quality monitoring, improvement activities, and departmental councils.
• Teach and mentor student nurses; participate in orientation of new staff.
• Maintain yearly safety and unit‑specific education requirements (GLI).
• Lead and support the nursing team by clearly communicating expectations, observing work in progress, and ensuring respectful teamwork.
• Respond to changing unit workloads, patient census, and staffing levels while maintaining professional standards.
• Perform other related duties as directed and support organizational and unit strategic goals.

• Licensed Registered Nurse credentialed from the Michigan Board of Nursing within 2 months of hire.
• Certified BLS Provider or Instructor from the American Heart Association within 3 months of hire.
• Graduate of an approved professional RN nursing program.
• Endoscopy experience preferred.
• Approximately 3 to 9 months on‑the‑job experience required to acquire unit and departmental policies, procedures, and standards for patient care.
